About St. Francis Episcopal Church

Welcome to St Francis!

We would love to meet you and hear more about your story. As we say every Sunday in worship, wherever you are in your journey, you are welcome here. All of us are invited guests at God’s table.

St Francis believed that all of God’s creatures have a place in the choir of praise. His call was to rebuild the church, and in doing so, he brought together people who profoundly disagreed, gathering them in Jesus’ love. So we seek to live out his ministry of reconciliation, gathering everyone. We don’t have expertise in this, but we are learning, and we hope you’ll want to come learn with us.

A LITTLE HISTORY…

St Francis started in 1960 as a preaching station amidst the citrus and avocado groves. The church and parish hall date from the 1970s, with the memorial garden added in 1985. Today the communities of Pauma Valley and Valley Center include a mix of people, indigenous members of local reservations, farming families, country club folks, and people who love the beauty and quiet of the area. In the spirit of our patron saint, St Francis, we seek to offer a place set apart where all of God’s children can find a home. Our world needs such places. Come and rest a while in our gardens and listen to what the Spirit might be saying to you.
