Rector Search news
The Search team continues to meet and hone their interview skills for their Zoom interview with prospective candidates. They are working with Canon Gwynn Lynch to talk about applicants and the next steps on the search process.
The first 15 days of the 30-days prayer schedule has concluded.. However, the “Bonus Day” schedule sent out to everyone on August 21 helps to remind us all in the parish to keep on praying daily. This is extremely important for a successful Search process!
To augment your prayers, the Litany of Discernment used at the Evening Prayer service on August 6 is also available in the back of the church (on yellow paper).
Next Vestry Meeting will be Sunday, September 15.
Rector Search progress - more news
The Rector Search Team has begun their initial review of a few has a few applicants. Advertising through nation-wide Episcopal media is now in place to attract more applicants. YOUR job is to pray for more, which will include (by deduction) the person who will be your new Rector.
The next 30-days of prayer schedule will begin on Tuesday, August 6. A service of Evening Prayer, with a Litany for discernment, will be held on that evening, at 6 pm. The parish is invited to attend and use that event as inspiration for beginning the first segment of 15 days of prayer out of the 30. Materials for the daily prayer, written by Fr. Eaton, will be provided before next weekend. Watch for that.

Bible Study on Thursday evenings takes a break next week
After a deep look at the amazing story of Jesus bringing a young man back to life after stopping a funeral procession, we will take a one week break while Fr. Eaton is on a one week vacation. Our next class is Thursday, September 5th, as we study through the exorcism by Jesus of the Gadarene man with demon(s). By the way, the story about the resurrection of the young man is found in Luke 7, starting at verse 11. Take a moment and look it up in your bible and read it.
The Thursday evening bible study, begins at 6 pm and ends no later than 7:15pm; it is a study of the healing stories in the bible. Don’t stay away just because you’ve never been in a bible study, or because you missed the first two sessions. Grab your bible and come on along. And if you don’t have a bible, there will be extras at the session! If your first time, contact Fr. Eaton at [email protected] for our homework study outline, and the next chapter and verse. AGAIN, the next class is Thursday, September 5.
